Generally, it comes to a point with anime OVAs that as they come along progressively they try to be better. In the case of ecchi shows, they try to one up the prior episode typically in terms of service. After an opening segment ending in a yuri kiss, we moved onto the focus of this episode. Nipples. Female nipples in particular (so not as to disappoint any readers hoping for the alternative).

Matsutaka and Komugi don’t return until the second chunk of the episode, and we have the following way to test the waters of the pervert-to-pure romance ratio: Matsutaka wears loose-fitting clothing, her nipples end up exposed, a discussion between her and Komugi occurs on the matters of nipples (this is a show about college students, after all), and she asks him out for a beer. Far from the typical comedic date, but it still works. Though, of course it’s not actually a date. Some anime clichés just can’t be beaten.

Casual meets cautious

The final segment involves Matsutaka and Komugi’s ex Miwako Mizukoshi in class together. The following image pretty much summarizes my feelings on the segment:

Essentially, the segment serves to showcase Mizukoshi’s perversity which hinges on her being the center of men’s sexual fantasies and noting their reactions to it. In the end, she ropes Matsutaka partially into some of her sexual deviancy with a photo of her nipple. Obviously, she does this since she’s doing poorly grade-wise in seminar and needs some help from her senior. Overall, it’s the same kind of shock value-type reactions that were present in the last OVA episode.

As such, it’s going to be interesting to see how the TV series fares when it's unable to get away with the sexual content that the OVA had. Overall, the episode has its high and low points depending on how open you are to the sexual humor. It’s still better than most of the carbon copy harem ecchi shows out there that are mass produced, and I’m looking forward to seeing if Matsutaka ever makes any progress with Komugi.
